One controls orbs through verious logic labyrinths to complete some tasks in as little amount of moves as possible.Quell Memento is the most complex game of the Quell series. It introduces a simple, but touching story. With solving levels an environment of first met ruined house slowly changes.Tasks to complete are not only collecting all pearls and finding a hidden gem but also turning lights on, lighting up cristals and looking for hidden passages.Environment and music are perfect, just like in all Quell games. They make the game a truly relaxing production. The game is not very hard in general. Finding perfect solutions for all levels can be hard though, but it is possible.Quell is a title that stole my heart.I absolutely recommend playing all games of this series.. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Good puzzle game. It's actually quite difficult and has multiple additions from the first game. If you played the first one and thought it was a bit to easy and are wary of getting this one, don't worry: this one has some pretty challenging puzzles in it. Just like the first one you collect pearls to beat the level and there's random hidden gems in blocks you'll have to smash your ball in to to get. I hate the gem thing and used a guide to get a good amount of them because I think it's stupid to have hidden stuff like that in puzzle games. I'm playing a puzzle game, not a smash my ball into every block simulator. This game adds multiple unique ways puzzles have to be completed unlike regular quell though.-light up all the blocks to adds certain color-light up all the diamonds with your light rays-a weird gold pearl that turns your ball gold and mostly screws with level completion for various reasons-moving a red ball simultaneously with your blue ball (red balls kill)-there's hidden levels with hidden items in some levels. They follow the same unlocking procedure as the gems, so I hate themAll in all, just ignore the gems and you've got yourself a nice little puzzle game on your hands. It's very challenging at points and if you enjoy puzzle games or blue balling then this game is easily recommended for you.. TL;DR: Not recommending because the changes to the third game in the series make it more tedious and not in a fun way. While I do recommend the first two or the collection, as a stand alone I'd pass.I'm going to review Quell, Quell Reflect, and Quell Memento all in one because there's a lot of comparing I'm going to do.Essentially Quell and Quell Reflect are the same. The layout, menu, feel, goals are all the same. If you have one and loved it then get the other. The puzzles themselves are different so it's just more of the same. Quell Memento feels very different and has a slightly higher degree of difficulty I feel. The feel of it is different as it now has a storyline, the stages are set up differently, and has different game components than the other two.For Quell and Quell Reflect you are simply moving your ball(s) around with the arrows to collect all the pearls on the puzzle without dying from different types of traps. Quell Momento changes this by having some that are collecting pearls and others where you're changing colors of tiles. It's the same movements, but has more nuances to it. Quell Reflect adds multiple balls while Quell only had one so extra mechanic, but not really that much more difficult. Quell Memento might be better if you want a slightly higher degree of difficulty. For each puzzle you will be solving it in the fewest moves trying to get the perfect. You can complete it with more moves, it won't stop you if you go over. So in that sense it can be a very relaxing puzzle. It has a perfect set of moves and occasionally you can complete the puzzle in less moves. This does not happen a lot. It's only required to find them in Quell Memento for the achievements. Each puzzle board has a second puzzle built in it where you find the hidden gem. There are times when you see it and just have to navigate to it. So for each board you're doing it over twice. With Quell Memento, there are a bunch were you find a third hidden element which is a ring to take you to a secret board where you must solve that one twice for the moves and for a hidden object. For Quell and Quell Reflect you will probably get all the achievements by just playing the game. There are a few like getting caught in a loop or dying to a spike a certain amount of times that you might need to just replay a game a few times to collect, but maybe not. I get those out of the way quickly as they are only like 5 or 15 times of something. It's no big deal. As long as you finish everything perfectly you will have all your achievements. Not so for Quell Memento. With Memento they added a bunch of other achievements, like forcing you to find a better than perfect board and completing it, changing a light bulb tile 200 times (that will NEVER happen through normal play), and others that you really need to go back and figure out how to do. I got lucky and stumbled through a few by chance, but upon completing the game I still had 4 more to go. I found the 200 times one really annoying to do. There's an achievement that forces you just to leave it go at the right screen to get an achievement. I don't really care for achievements like that. I prefer how they did Quell and Quell Relect much better.Overall, I liked the games. I bought them in the Quell Collection and had fun with it. I don't see myself replaying it though. So if you're looking for that, I don't see it. I didn't really care for Quell Memento that much. I played it between Quell and Reflect and you could tell it was a later version, but I wasn't really thrilled with the changes to it. I didn't care for doing a board three times and then doing the secret hidden board twice. It became too much and I didn't know why not just add those boards as regular puzzles. Doing a puzzle twice was okay. By the third time I was really bored sick of it. And if you screwed up on the secret board in a way that brought you back to the first, you had to redo the first to open up the entrance to the secret board again. So there was just way too much repetition there. I didn't like the achievements as I already stated, and I found the story and cleaning off the tile to get to the stages menu just extra work I didn't want to have to do. I don't have complaints on Quell and Quell Reflect other than if you wanted a major step up in difficulty and a complete change in one from the other you're not going to get it. But I like them both equally and really enjoyed doing them. If you get stuck there are guides and videos to help you out.. Early game: Ma, I got this in the bag!! No sweat!Mid-game: started to hyperventilate (-.-")Late-game: pulling hair outFinish: I... I... did it?! Goku exhaustedEasily one of the best puzzles I've played in many years. Good art & soothing music. I'm hooked on this game series. 10/10. Similar to Quell, this is a nice, relaxing puzzle game with no real time pressures to deal with. Level layouts can be analyzed before making moves, and trying out various moves also doesn't hurt, as they may help to get to solutions. If you have played Quell or Quell reflect then all you need to know is - This game is of the same quality of the other games but longer- There's new elements and more puzzles. The puzzles are not a copy of the old ones- This game takes a couple of seconds to start. Something that I rarely noticed in the other gamesYou don't need to have played the previous games. You can start with this one. If possible, though, I'd recommend playing the whole collection in the proper order: Quell, Quell Reflection and Quell Memento.--------------------------------------------------------------- The levels are well designed with a difficulty going from easy to hard (but not too hard) levels- No timer at all- You can play as as little as you want and continue where you left off or go back to previous levels to complete unfinished objectives- A few levels are hard to finish but a perfect number of moves but there's no penalty for retrying them (there's even an achievement for that!) so you can be persistent or use coins that you obtain by perfecting levels- Finding and getting the jewel in every level gives you a different objective. There are also 24 secret levels and the clocks in it- Good fun for the priceIt's very well done too:- Graphics, music and sound are nice and polished- Graphic options work as the should (several fixed resolutions, full screen, windowed mode)- Music and sounds can be muted separately- Movement can be controlled with keyboard- Resetting a level or going to the next one can also be done with keyboard. liek dis if u cri evritim. If you like puzzle games, you will love Quell Memento. A various number of newly introduced game-mechanics were sensefully used to design mind-provoking puzzles, that go into deep without being unfair. The presentation of the game is more than professional. No time limits, so you can chillout on the sounds and let your mind do the work. Excellent ! Sometimes the music is a little bit too melancholic where it should be more relaxing. The music in the bonus-levels, that are entered over the bronze rings, is like tense drum-tremor - i dont like that. But beyond these two blemishes Quell Memento is an excellent puzzle game for a friendly price !
